Plan for 2025: — don’t get into another bike accident.

“His name was Justin Case. His parents had a sense of humor, or so they said. He had no talent, so he became a detective. He thought it would look good on his door when he hung out his shingle.” #writing #throwawayline

I’m enjoying writing my WIP. But I always think that when I write it. This set of characters could become recurring if I want to make a new series. But I doubt I will. #writing #pulp

So. If anyone I know on here makes glogg for the holidays, what’s your recipe? #food

It’s a personal problem. I always want to accomplish more than I am humanly capable of each new year. Things to do. Things not to do. Things to read. Things to write. Things to program. Things to cook. Things to bake. Things to learn. Things to achieve. Luckily, I’m not human. #life

Just overheard a couple celebrating their 25 years together, 20 married. Just paid for their beers. Small things. #life

In case anyone wonders, I use the Micro.blog API to scrape my posts by hashtag to extract my thoughts/ideas by topic.. It’s easier than doing text searches or plowing through handwritten journals/lists.That’s why I mind dump. #writing #idea

“Live in the now, not the sometime.” — ancient proverb I just made up.

Everyone focuses on the new at the start of a new year. It’s just as important to focus on the old: the successes, the failures, and the people. #nye #life #2025

It’s as important to know what you won’t do as what you will/want to do in the new year. That’s why I have a Do Not Do List to remind myself of the things to avoid in life. If you don’t write it down, you will forget or slip into doing those items you want to avoid. #todo #tasks #life

NYE Day: Thank you who follow, react, interact, or read my books. You are appreciated. I consider some of you friends, even though we have never met. I appreciate your thoughts and feedback. I hope I bring a smile or a weird thought to your life. I hope I encourage or motivate some of you. #nye

Be happy, despite whatever others tell you or talk about in 2025. You have a choice when it comes to doomscrollling.

What was the funniest book you read in 2025? Was it intentionally funny, or so bad you had to laugh? #books

Vicious Rumor: Apple to drop XCode in 2025 in favor of a new development paradigm. #apple #programming

Sometimes, you have to do the wrong thing to know what’s right. — ancient proverb I just made up

Back in my day people worried about whether a phone call was a toll call or a long-distance one. Sometimes, we worried about whether we had a nickel for the phone booth (think Photo Booth, but with a phone). Now, we just dial whatever we feel like or text. #progress (?)

Plan for 2025: — Improve my handwriting so that the SuperNote Manta recognition works consistently. I think it’s the best with my chicken scratch. The key to handwriting recognition is to train yourself to write the way the engine expects, not the other way around. #supernote #handwriting

How were you pleasantly surprised by 2024?

“He slammed his fist against the table. It hit hard, bounced, rolled onto the floor and onto the sleeping cat who promptly batted it behind the fridge with all of his other body parts and various dust bunnies.” #writing #throwawayline

“I don’t write life. I write fiction. Life is to be lived, not read.” #writing #life

“Live to your strengths.” #life

Envy is just a form of jealousy. Who are you jealous of? The rich, powerful, or the celebrities? Jealousy is a form of self-deprecation and degradation. You are complete as you are. You can be better, without using those you are jealous of as role models. #life
