Space launches aren’t efficient if they have a lot of flame/exhaust. What if SpaceX,NASA, et.al., keep them for the spectacle? Alien craft seem not to have any vapor trails. If they did, they would be easily tracked. A totally silent, explosion-free launch would not make good viewing.
