“Down the shore” is proper in Phila, PA.

Meaning:: “I am visiting a beach resort, in New Jersey. I’m bringing the kids. I want to get drunk and sit on the sand. We’ll stop at a Wawa (a konbini) and get hoagies (meats and vegetables on a baguette-wannabe) to take with (prepositions always dangle).”
