I see parents refusing to allow an adult child to pay for a meal at a restaurant. I get it, but the parents are just reinforcing the notion that the child is dependdent on them, and perhaps incapable of standing alone. Parents, let your kids pay for your meal when they offer. You’ll save money, make the child feel better about themselves, and you should feel proud.
